If you advertise your properties on external real-estate portals (for example a national listings site), those portals send you enquiry leads — usually as a file you can download from the portal's dashboard. This feature imports those leads straight into your contacts and opportunities, so you do not have to retype them.
The import is configurable, so different portals with different file formats can be supported.
Each portal gives every advertised property its own listing reference. To let the system connect an incoming lead to the right property automatically, record the portal's listing reference on your property.
On the property form there is a section to add one or more external references — for each, you pick the portal and enter the listing id (you can usually paste the full listing URL and the system will pull out the id for you). A property can carry references for several portals at once.

Download the leads file from your portal, then open the portal-lead import page and upload it. Choose which portal the file came from so the system reads it correctly. The phone numbers in the file are normalised to your country's format automatically.
